2026 Lake Michigan Charter Fishing Approaches

Here is our latest charter fishing update as of August 2026: We thank you for your interest in fishing with us! After many succesful years, Captain Steve Grose has recently retired from the business. However, our very own Captain Mark Kirsten, is accomodating many of our guests on his vessel, DARK HORSE. Our 2026 season will begin around Memorial Day and we fish daily until roughly October 1. The most consistent fishing and most stable weather tends to be in the months of June, July, and early August. In June we are generally catching a good mix of Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Coho Salmon, and King Salmon. In July and August, the catches are dominated by King Salmon and some Rainbow Trout. This continues into September, with the mature King Salmon starting to move up the tributaries, we continue catching Rainbows and silver Kings throughout the fall.
